Localization Quality Controller - Korean - Project-based Freelance Position

• Assist in the creation of a terminology list and style guide that aligns with content strategy and clearly defines target-language-specific rules • Manage the terminology list and style guide • Review content that has been translated and proofread ensuring it is: • Consistent with the terminology list and style guide • Contextually accurate—some words/sentences may need to be translated differently depending on the context. For example, “subject” can be translated differently in French depending on the context: “sujet”, “objet”, “matière”. • Free from mistranslations, grammatical errors, spelling mistakes and unnatural sentence structure/phrasing. • Evaluate and report to the project manager on translation quality, raising issues and providing feedback where necessary • Answer target-language-specific questions from translators and proofreaders • Participate irregular meetings with the project manager and other LQCs • Screen proofread the demo version of the localized site before the official launch checking for incorrectly displayed text, corrupted characters, image issues and high-level contextual inaccuracies

• 3+ years of professional experience as a translator from English into your native language • Professional experience as a Localization quality controller or equivalent. • Bachelor’s degree or higher in translation, English literature, linguistics, your native language, or similar. • Must be a native speaker of the target language, with impeccable grammar and spelling • Is fluent in English (speaking, listening, reading and writing) • Has significant translation, proofreading and/or quality control experience in the digital field • Has uninterrupted access to the internet and is able to check and respond to emails regularly • Strong computer literacy including being comfortable using various task management systems, communication apps and presentation/spreadsheet apps for productivity
