Staff Product Designer, Hospitality (all genders)

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by 👋 Are you actively looking for a new opportunity? Or just checking the market? Well… you might just be in the right place! We're looking for a Staff Product Designer to join our Hospitality product design team in Berlin. You'll design for products that tens of thousands of restaurants, cafés, and hospitality businesses rely on every single day to run their operations — where a confusing flow isn't an inconvenience, it's a queue at the door, a missed order, or a service team under pressure. Design at this scale is a different sport: every improvement lands with enormous reach, and every decision has to earn the trust of people whose livelihoods run through our software. This is a role for a designer who finds the hard problems more interesting than the shiny ones: simplifying deeply established hospitality workflows without breaking what operators depend on, exploring what agentic experiences can make possible, and finding the right balance between automation, human judgment, and control. You'll help shape how AI can work alongside hospitality teams — not as a novelty, but as a trusted partner that helps them move faster and run better businesses. Location: Berlin Metropolitan Area, working in a hybrid model alongside the team. What you'll be doing: Own end-to-end design for core Hospitality experiences — from problem framing through polished, shipped product — and be accountable for their quality and outcomes. Design the next generation of agentic experiences: explore how AI can understand context, anticipate needs, take action, and help hospitality teams complete complex work with less effort. Make complicated operations feel simple: distill dense, high-frequency workflows across the front and back of house into clear, fast, confidence-inspiring experiences. Design for trust and control: make AI behavior understandable, provide meaningful ways to review and intervene, and ensure people remain confidently in charge of important decisions. Ground decisions in evidence: drive your own research and testing with real hospitality operators and staff, so improvements are built on how people actually work, not assumptions. Design with real-world constraints as creative fuel — partnering closely with engineering and product to find solutions that are both excellent and feasible in mature, at-scale systems. Think in systems: strengthen consistency across the wider Hospitality portfolio, contributing patterns and improvements back to our shared design system. Multiply the team: mentor other designers, raise the bar through critique, and bring a point of view that makes the work around you better. Put AI to work in your craft — using modern tools to explore, prototype, and validate faster, and modeling new ways of working for the team. What you need to bring: • 8+ years of product design experience at product-driven tech companies, with measurable impact on shipped products. • A portfolio that shows strong fundamentals, polished UI craft, and complex workflows made simple. • Experience designing for mature, at-scale products — and the judgment to know when to simplify, when to modernize, and when to leave well enough alone. • Experience designing AI-powered, agentic, or adaptive experiences — with a thoughtful approach to trust, transparency, user control, and failure states. • A track record of partnering with engineering to navigate technical constraints and still ship excellent work. • Fluency with prototyping and research methods to validate decisions, explore emerging interaction models, and shape product direction. • Active use of AI tools in your design workflow, and curiosity about how agentic systems are changing the craft and the products we build. • Strong communication skills — able to build alignment with cross-functional, global partners and advocate for the needs of hospitality teams. What is in it for you You’ll enjoy: • A flexible work environment that empowers you to do your best work • A culture that celebrates performance • The chance to make an impact in a team that’s big enough for career growth, but lean enough to make your voice heard • Career-defining opportunities Plus benefits designed to keep you happy, healthy and fulfilled. • Equity options, because this is your company too • Contributions to your pension plan. Your future matters • Training opportunities to grow your skills and career • Health and wellness credit so you feel your best • Time off to volunteer and give back to your community • Interest groups, employee led networks, social committees to sponsored sports teams To all recruitment agencies: Lightspeed does not accept unsolicited agency resumes.
