Senior Backend Developer (Go) — Full Remote, European Timezones Only (UTC−1 to UTC+3)

You'll join our engineering team as a Senior Go Backend Developer and take real ownership of critical backend systems and services — not ticket-pushing, actual ownership. You'll design, build, and evolve the backend services that power our products, weigh in on architectural decisions, improve system reliability, and help shape how backend engineering is done across the company. This is a hands-on senior role: you'll write production Go every day and be deeply involved in technical decisions that have real impact. • Design, build, and maintain backend services written in Go • Build and evolve APIs (GraphQL and/or REST) behind complex product workflows • Design scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend architectures • Work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, data engineers, and designers • Contribute to data modeling, business logic, and performance optimization • Review code and take part in architectural and technical discussions • Raise the bar on code quality, testing, observability, and system resilience • Actively tackle refactoring, technical debt, and long-term improvements • Own backend features end to end, from design to production • Take part in Agile ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)

Read this first — two non-negotiables • Go is the job, not a bonus skill. We're only considering candidates with 5+ years of hands-on, production experience in Go. If Go isn't (one of) your primary languages, this role won't be a match — and we'd rather save you the time. • You must live in a European timezone (UTC−1 to UTC+3). This is a hard requirement. Applications from outside this range won't be considered, regardless of how strong the profile is. Still with us? Great — here's why this role is worth your attention. Who we are We're Jobtome (https://weare.jobtome.com/) — an HR Tech company building the modern web applications that companies use to run complex hiring and recruitment workflows at scale. Our products are highly interactive, data-driven, and built for real-world usage — not demos. We work with a strong product mindset, short feedback loops, and a pragmatic engineering culture: quality, ownership, and code we're still proud of a year from now.
