Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, delivery, and ongoing operation of your systems, staying hands-on with production code throughout. • Take broad business needs and turn them into technical plans, making decisions about architecture, implementation, and priorities. • Proactively identify problems and opportunities for improvement rather than waiting for tasks to be assigned. • Work directly with stakeholders to understand their needs, explain technical trade-offs, and communicate progress, risks, and blockers. • Use AI coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex as part of your daily engineering workflow, while independently reviewing, testing, and validating their output. • Identify and resolve technical bottlenecks across architecture, infrastructure, cloud resources, and observability. • Take responsibility for how your systems perform in production, including troubleshooting incidents, improving monitoring, and maintaining long-term reliability. • 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience: Strong engineering fundamentals and ability to apply them across different languages, frameworks, and environments. • Extensive coding experience: Strong hands-on programming skills in languages such as Python, Go, Java, Rust, etc. In our AI-first workflow, you will rarely write code by hand, but you must understand how code works (design, data structures, testing, performance, security) well enough to direct AI agents and review their output as an equal. • Advanced AI usage: Regular use of LLM-based tools for development, debugging, testing, refactoring, or code review. Not just occasional experimentation. • Linux and CI/CD experience: Strong Linux fundamentals and experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines or runners. • Product-mindset: Ability to turn unclear requirements into a clear technical plan, make trade-offs, and prioritise based on impact. • Ownership: Experience shipping projects in high-accountability environments, where you were directly responsible for the result. • Clear communication: Professional English, clear status updates, and ability to explain technical trade-offs to different stakeholders. What's in it for you? • Stay hands-on technically while working on complex, high-impact engineering projects. • Solve challenging Linux, automation, and cybersecurity problems across mature and newer products. • Influence technical direction and make meaningful architectural decisions. • Enjoy a high level of independence
