Responsibilities

• Project delivery: You plan and steer smart metering projects end-to-end. You track milestones, report on project status and manage delays before they become problems. • Scope & change management: You protect the agreed scope. You handle customer objections professionally, manage change requests and make clear when additional modules or licences are needed, while keeping the customer on board. • Stakeholder management: You connect utility stakeholders, local partners, our international project team and internal tech teams, and you make sure communication stays clear and transparent on all sides. • Technical coordination: You drive deliverables and technical clarifications together with our engineering and delivery teams. • Customer presence: You present to customers, run project meetings and represent Cuculus on site. • Business development: You spot new needs and opportunities outside the current project scope and hand them over to our Sales team for LATAM. • Travel: You travel regularly to customer sites in the region (approx. 1 week per month).

Requirements

• Experience: 8+ years of project management experience, including complex customer projects you have led independently. • Scope & customer management: You have handled scope disputes, change requests and demanding customers yourself, and you know how to protect the project budget without damaging the relationship. • Technical background: Experience in IT, software, telecom, smart metering or AMI environments, so you quickly find your way around our technical setup. • Tools: Hands-on experience with project management tools, ideally MS Project. • Languages: Business-fluent in Spanish and English (B2-C1). • Communication: You present confidently to customers and stay calm and convincing in difficult conversations. • Working model: You work independently and can reliably overlap with European business hours. • Mobility: Willingness to travel approx. 1 week per month within Latin America. Nice-to-haves (great if you have them, but not a dealbreaker) • Commercial mindset: Experience in technical sales or presales, or a natural sense for business opportunities. • Utilities: Experience managing projects for utilities or energy companies. • Portuguese: Helpful for future projects in Brazil. • Smart metering expertise: Familiarity with AMI systems, MDMS, or protocols such as DLMS/COSEM and RF Mesh. • Regional know-how: Knowledge of utility standards and regulations in Latin America (e.g., Peru). why us? We at Cuculus believe that work should be meaningful, fun, and enable growth. When you join us, you can expect an environment that trusts you, values collaboration, and gives you the freedom to take ownership. • Long-term collaboration: A freelance engagement until the end of 2027, with the clear intention to continue beyond that. • Where delivery meets business: You are part of our Project Management team and work hand in hand with our Sales Head for LATAM, our engineering teams and local partners. You get real influence on both projects and new businesses. • Remote & flexible: Work from your home country with flexible hours across European and Latin American time zones. • Growth with the region: You will be at the centre of our expansion in Latin America from the start. • Culture: Short decision-making paths, open feedback culture and genuine trust. • Onboarding: A structured onboarding to get you started quickly. • Impact: Meaningful work, with software that shapes the energy market of tomorrow.
