Who we are AppyWay is the UK’s largest kerbside data company and Europe’s leading intelligent kerbside platform, decarbonising cities by empowering local authorities to digitally manage their kerbside and share that data with fleets and drivers. Our journey began with AppyParking, an app born from the frustration of finding and understanding parking on the streets of London. During the app’s creation, it was clear that cities lacked shareable, machine-readable, standardised parking restriction data. So we built the UK’s largest set of standardised kerbside data, in turn discovering the untapped potential beneath everyone’s feet. Today, we help cities and drivers across the UK, Europe and now New York City optimise operations and transition to net zero by uniting parking/loading maps, occupancy data, and cashless payments. We’ve now mapped over 50,000km of kerbside, enough to circle the Earth! We’re also co-creators of UK regulations such as the Digital Traffic Regulation Order (D-TRO), helping shape the standards that will bring the UK’s traffic system into the digital age. Our API and standardised D-TRO data, already trusted by councils, will soon help self-driving vehicles know where they can park. Our impressive client roster includes local authorities such as Edinburgh, Southwark, Lambeth, Haringey, Harrogate, Brighton, Cambridgeshire, Cornwall, Dorset, Dublin, North Yorkshire and, more recently across the pond, New York City. Additionally, our apps and API are trusted by tens of thousands of drivers and fleets. We are proud to have the support of top investors, including Hyundai Motor Company, Aviva Ventures, Mastercard and Esri. To date, we have raised over £20 million in funding, allowing us to continue building something big from the ground up. If you’re passionate about tangible solutions to help decarbonise the world, then AppyWay is the perfect place for you. Come and make your mark on a company you can call your own! About the role We’re looking for a Platform Product Owner to own our Kerbside Intelligence Platform, also known internally as “The Hub.” The Hub is a foundational part of AppyWay’s product strategy. It will become the canonical platform for our parking and kerbside intelligence, bringing together data from multiple sources into a consistent, trusted and reusable model. The Hub vision and strategic direction are set. You’ll own day-to-day product delivery — translating that strategy into a clear and prioritised backlog, partnering closely with Engineering and Data to execute it, and ensuring consuming products have the platform capabilities they need to move forward. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of product, technology and data, and who can turn complex platform problems into clear, incremental pieces of work that deliver value. What you will be doing • Execute the product roadmap, backlog and priorities for the Hub Platform. • Work closely with Engineering to implement the kerbside data model, ensuring it meets consuming product requirements and that concepts such as parking assets, geometry, restrictions, tariffs, rights, entitlements and operating rules are represented consistently. • Work with the Data team to define requirements for data classification and standardisation, ensuring data from multiple sources is transformed into consistent, machine-readable information and meets agreed quality standards. • Own product requirements for data pipelines, including ingestion, transformation, validation, reconciliation and publication. • Work closely with Engineering and Data to define and deliver scalable platform capabilities and APIs that can be reused across multiple products and customers. • Drive the development and scaling of platform APIs, defining contracts, capabilities, consumption patterns and priorities for internal and external use cases. • Identify opportunities to leverage AI and machine learning to improve data classification, anomaly detection, validation, conflict resolution and other data-intensive workflows. • Work with Data Operations to move towards an exception-based operating model, where automation handles high-confidence cases and people focus on complex decisions and edge cases. • Work across Product, Engineering, Data, GIS, Commercial and Operations to understand requirements, manage dependencies and ensure the platform solves real business and customer problems. • Maintain a clear and prioritised product backlog, balancing foundational platform development with the needs of consuming products. • Define clear acceptance criteria, quality standards and success measures for platform capabilities. • Manage dependencies across technical teams and ensure platform changes are clearly communicated, understood and adopted by consuming teams. • Continuously identify opportunities for the platform to remove duplication, reduce manual effort, improve data quality and enable AppyWay to scale its coverage and product offering. Essential • 6+ years’ experience owning technical, platform or data products in an agile environment, with a proven ability to work closely with Engineering teams on complex, data-heavy systems. • Essential: proven experience with a geospatial product, geospatial data platform or complex SaaS data platform. • A proven track record of owning technical products or platforms, with a good working understanding of APIs, data models, data pipelines and microservices. • Experience designing or managing data pipelines, including data ingestion, transformation, validation, reconciliation and distribution. • Experience with data classification, standardisation and data quality, particularly where multiple data sources need to be brought together into a consistent model. • Experience working with and scaling APIs and platform capabilities that are consumed by multiple products, customers or third parties. • Strong technical understanding of APIs, integrations, d
